Photography is my driving passion and through the viewfinder/ground glass of the camera is my window to a different world, one without conflict or strife and far more beautiful from the everyday world we live in. It is quiet and serene and is found only when I want it. Photography allows me to feel and sense the wonders of nature without being disturbed.
The camera not only records what is before it, but can be used as a wonderfully creative tool able to not only capture the moment in time and keep it forever but portray it in a wonderful and evocative way. Through the control I exercise over the camera I take a moment in time and alter it by holding it forever.
Though travelled I like nothing more than capturing the varied landscape of The British Isles, from the coast of Sussex with its gentle beauty up to the lunar landscape off the Scottish Highlands the land of my father and all the wonderful lands in between. Photography is the art of observation; it is a way of feeling and touching the natural world around us.
I have a passion for crafted Black and White images that though devoid of colour can be far more stirring and emotive on the soul than any colour photograph. That said the world would not be as attractive as it is without colour so I do not like to limit the powers of my creativity to just the chords of grey but like to add the backing of colour to my creativity.
My images remember little things that I have long since forgotten.
